

What is TRE ?
TRE® (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises) is a simple body-based method that helps release deep stress and tension stored in the body. Developed by David Berceli, TRE uses a series of gentle exercises to activate the body’s natural shaking response, known as neurogenic tremors.

These tremors are a built-in reflex that help the nervous system discharge stress and return to balance. By allowing the body to tremor in a safe and controlled way, tension patterns—especially in the hips and core—can gradually release.

TRE is not talk therapy, but a practical self-regulation tool that supports relaxation, resilience, and overall well-being.
How does it work ?
TRE activates the body’s natural tremor reflex — a built-in mechanism of the nervous system. The exercises gently fatigue muscles in the legs and hips, where stress and survival tension are often stored.

This mild fatigue triggers natural shaking (neurogenic tremors). The tremors help release deep muscular holding patterns and discharge accumulated stress energy.

As the body tremors, the nervous system shifts out of fight-or-flight and toward a calmer, more regulated state.

You remain aware and in control the entire time, and the process supports relaxation, balance, and resilience.
